Araucanas originate from South America and are recognised worldwide for their rare blue egg gene. Chicks grow steadily into robust juveniles before maturing into confident, active adults with distinctive features such as ear tufts, pea combs, and (in some lines) rumpless tails.

Hens typically produce 180–220 blue eggs per year. They are strong foragers, naturally alert, and well-suited to free-range systems, making them a favourite among both families and experienced poultry keepers.
