Please note that our Naked Neck birds carry the naked neck characteristic, but they are not the pure Transylvanian Naked Neck breed.

 

Our breeding pen is a mixed flock, which allows us to offer a range of birds including:

  • Purebred Silkies
  • Silkie × Naked Neck crosses
  • Potential Showgirls

 

Showgirls are created when the Silkie feathering combines with the naked neck gene. However, when birds hatch it is not always possible to identify which chicks will develop into true Showgirls until they are a few weeks old.

 

For this reason, while some chicks from these crosses will become Showgirls, we cannot guarantee which individuals will display the full Showgirl traits at hatch.

 

All birds are raised from healthy stock and make friendly, unique additions to backyard flocks.

About Showgirl Chickens

A striking hybrid combining Silkie softness with a unique look

Showgirl chickens are a hybrid breed created by crossing Silkies with Naked Neck chickens. The result is a bird with the soft, fluffy feathering of a Silkie and the characteristic bare neck, giving them their distinctive “show-stopping” appearance.

 

Despite their unusual look, Showgirls are known for being gentle, calm and often quite broody, making them popular with families and breeders alike. Mature hens are relatively small, usually weighing around 1.5kg, and typically lay 100–150 small cream or lightly tinted eggs per year.

 

Their friendly nature and unique appearance make them wonderful ornamental birds and great companions in backyard flocks.

What To Expect

From Fertile Egg to Hen

Once incubated, your Showgirl chicks will hatch covered in delicate, silky down with their signature bare necks already visible. As they grow, they’ll develop graceful feathering, expressive crests, and a calm, curious personality.
