The Wyandotte breed originated in the United States in the late 1800s and quickly gained popularity for its resilience, even temperament, and stunning feather patterns. Today, they’re available in a range of colours — from silver and gold-laced to blue and buff — each displaying the breed’s signature shimmer and symmetry.
Wyandottes are dependable layers, producing 200–240 medium cream or light brown eggs per year. Their calm, friendly personalities make them excellent companions for mixed flocks, and they adapt well to both confinement and free-range settings.
Hardy in cold conditions and easy to care for, Wyandottes are truly an all-purpose bird that brings both beauty and balance to any coop.
